I first joined the Flashman Lab in 2020 as a final-year Chemistry Undergraduate student, investigating the role of Plant Cysteine Oxidase enzymes in algal oxygen sensing. I subsequently re-joined the lab in 2022 as a DPhil student in Earth Sciences, continuing my research into algal oxygen sensing. My research aims to understand the hypoxic molecular response of single and multicellular algae, and what role PCO-like enzymes may play in this response.
