My research explores the delicate balance between reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced cellular survival and cellular death under oxidative stress. This interest began during my PhD research as I was intrigued by the dynamic role of ROS, with its dual ability to serve as both a protector and destroyer of cells. This interest directed my research career path towards specialising in oxidative stress signalling in both plant and mammalian systems. Building on my research skills, I am enthusiastic to explore the intricate networks of oxidative stress signalling in plants and to develop strategies that enhance plant tolerance to stress. In the long run, my goal is to apply this knowledge to identify routes improving crop yields and contribute to solutions for the challenges posed by climate change and food security.
